Become a coach

Coaching is a rewarding role which puts you front and centre in developing your athlete or athletes for optimum strength and technical progression. It includes making quick decisions on competition day to get the best results, riding the highs and lows with your competitors.

Become an expert - get AWF accreditation

The Australian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) managers and delivers weightlifting coach education in Australia. You'll learn how to correctly coach the snatch and clean and jerk in their basic and technical components, as well as programing.

The AWF offers the following coach education courses:

    • Club Weightlifting/Sports Power Coach Licence (Level 1)
    • AWF State Weightlifting/Sports Power Coach Licence (Level 2)
    • National Weightlifting Coach Licence (Level 3).

Completing (and maintaining) AWF accredited training gives you qualificaitons the SAWLA recognises. It also gives you extra protection under the AWF's public liability insurance.  

Payment plans available

All courses have payment plan options, and if you're from a SAWLA affiliated club you may get access to subsidised training.
